It kinda looks like in old water heater. The vent at the topis puzzling, but the shape definitely looks like a water heater.
Not everything in that shot is inherent to the object. Looks like there's piece of vinyl siding stuck in there. If those vent-looking panels are original, the water heater theory sounds plausible. For all I know it looks like a giant bird cage :-)
