No Chris! Clearly, that's not what he said. He distinctly said "blanch" which (among other things) means "to take the color from or whiten." But, according to his usage distinctly means "to blave." And, as we all know, "to blave" means "to bluff."
So you were probably playing cards, and he cheated --
